Wishing for good luck and health throughout the year, the Koreans traditionally posted ‘Ipchunbang’ on the front door or pillars.
They also created plaques that encapsulated the will and philosophy of the person using the building,
as well as talismans to ward off misfortune and protect precious things.
Our ancestors wrote down words of hope to either invoke good energy or ward off bad energy.
The strokes dismantled from the characters of hope are reassembled into ornaments of ‘guardians’ that curtain around the ‘Nong’.
